I rode my motorbike up to a friend’s place in Cambuslang, Glasgow to meet up with a few pals who were heading up to Strathpeffer for a long weekend. Unfortunately, my health wasn’t at its best to allow me to carry on with them and enjoy the festivities of a great weekend, and so I made the journey back home, calling in at Hawick to visit the museum which housed memorials to two of motorcycle racing’s legends who were both born and bred in Hawick – Jimmy Guthrie and Steve Hislop – both sadly taken way too early by the sport that they loved. I also spotted a couple of other interesting sculptures while I wandered around the museum’s beautiful gardens.
